Strike: Min­is­ters meet oil work­ers today

The Min­is­ter of Labour and Em­ploy­ment Sen. Chris Ngige and his Petroleum Re­sources coun­ter­part Ibe Kachikwu will today hold a cru­cial meet­ing with the Petroleum and Nat­u­ral Gas Se­nior Staff As­so­ci­a­tion of Nige­ria (PENGASSAN) and Nige­ria Union of Petroleum & Nat­u­ral Gas Work­ers (NUPENG) to find a last­ing so­lu­tion to the lin­ger­ing prob­lems in the oil and gas sec­tor. This is just as the oil work­ers be­gin strike today .

This is con­tained in a state­ment is­sued yes­ter­day by Sa­muel Olowookere Deputy Di­rec­tor (Press) in the min­istry.

The state­ment said the meet­ing is sched­uled to hold at the Min­istry of Petroleum Re­sources in Abuja.
