Soyinka at 82: Group plans women, chil­dren plat­forms against cor­rup­tion

A group, the Wole Soyinka In­ter­na­tional Cul­tural Ex­change (WSICE), has dis­closed plan to or­ga­nize an all-fe­male dis­cus­sion on cor­rup­tion tar­get­ing chil­dren and hu­man­ity, as part of ac­tiv­i­ties to mark the 82nd birth­day of the No­ble Lau­re­ate, Prof. Wole Soyinka.

The an­nual WSICE project, which holds on July 13 and 14, and has its theme, Cor­rup­tion: A Bat­tle for the Arts, has been di­vided into youth and the adult seg­ments for the year 2016 edi­tion.

A re­lease by Ha­neefat Ikharo for WSICE in Abeokuta yes­ter­day, stated, “The youth seg­ment will fea­ture an es­say writ­ing com­pe­ti­tion by stu­dents, while the adult seg­ment will fea­ture two key­notes on the main theme as well as an all-fe­male panel of dis­cus­sion on cor­rup­tion as it af­fects chil­dren, women and our com­mon hu­man­ity.”
