UK to support Niger on economy
British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Paul Arkwright has said that the British government is ready to give support to the Niger state government in areas that would assist to tackle its economic challenges.
Mr Arckwright who made the statement when he paid a visit to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello in the state in Minna said that UK would do their best to assist the state on the economy.
He said the British government was aware of numerous challenges Niger state was facing on economy.
In his remark, Governor Sani Bello sought partnership with British government to woo investors through the development of the existing historical tourist sites in the state.
“There are a lot of historical things in the state that need to be back to life. It is important to Nigeria and the British community to maintain history of the past events for the future generation.
“We will work earnestly to write the history and put the record straight in a more organized, formal and professional manner,” he said.
