Ondo monarch res­cued in Edo

The tra­di­tional ruler of Ode Iyasan com­mu­nity in Irele LGA of Ondo state, Oba Abio­dun Oyewusi, who was kid­napped last week by gun­men re­gained free­dom yes­ter­day.

Ondo State po­lice com­mand spokesman, Mr Femi Joseph, con­firmed that he was re­leased at Gbele­gun vil­lage in Edo State early yes­ter­day through the com­bined ef­forts of the marine po­lice, anti - kid­nap­ping squad and some mil­i­tary of­fi­cers.

Joseph said no ran­som was paid for the re­lease of the monarch who spent six days with the kid­nap­pers.

A mem­ber of the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives from Ok­i­tipupa /Irele Fed­eral Con­stituency of Ondo State, Hon. Mike Omog­be­hin, com­mended the se­cu­rity forces for the res­cue ef­fort.

The monarch was kid­napped from his palace in Irele.
