Ecobank wins four awards at 25th Euromoney Awards in Lon­don

The Pan-African bank­ing group, Ecobank, has won this year’s Euromoney Ex­cel­lence Awards for ‘Best Bank for CSR in Africa’ and ‘Best Bank for Trans­ac­tion Ser­vices in Africa.’

Ecobank also won two coun­try awards-“Best Bank Ghana’ and ‘Best Bank Malawi.”

The Euromoney Awards are pre­sented in recog­ni­tion of ex­cel­lence in the global bank­ing com­mu­nity.

Speak­ing at the 25th Euromoney for Ex­cel­lence Award cer­e­mony in Lon­don, Julie Es­siam, the Ecobank Foun­da­tion CEO, said: “Our award for cor­po­rate so­cial re­spon­si­bil­ity is grat­i­fy­ing and it demon­strates the pow­er­ful im­pact that the pri­vate sec­tor makes on de­vel­op­ment in Africa.”

Com­ment­ing on the ‘Best Bank for Trans­ac­tion Ser­vices in Africa’ award, the Ecobank’s trans­ac­tion ser­vices group head, Pa­trick Gut­mann, said: “We pro­vide in­no­va­tive trans­ac­tion ser­vices in the 36 African coun­tries in which we op­er­ate, and this award shows that we are not only de­liv­er­ing this ser­vice, but ex­celling at it.”
