FG, PENGASSAN meet­ing con­tin­ues to­day

The con­cil­i­a­tion meet­ing be­tween the min­is­ters of Labour and Em­ploy­ment, Sen. Chris Ngige and his Pe­tro­leum Re­sources coun­ter­partm, Ibe Kachikwu, over the strike by the Pe­tro­leum and Nat­u­ral Gas Se­nior Staff As­so­ci­a­tion of Nige­ria (PENGASSAN) be­gan yes­ter­day at the NNPC tow­ers, Abuja con­tin­ues to­day, Daily Trust gath­ered.

A source at the meet­ing told our re­porter that the dis­cus­sions were fruit­ful and it was be­ing ex­tended till to­day for fur­ther for­mal­iza­tion of the dis­cus­sions held.

The Deputy Direc­tor (Press) in the Min­istry of Labour and Em­ploy­ment, Samuel Olowooekere, told Daily Trust that the strik­ing oil work­ers would meet with Ngige in his of­fice to­day in con­tin­u­a­tion of on­go­ing ne­go­ti­a­tions to make them call off the strike in the in­ter­est of the na­tion.
