Kid­napped ECWA pas­tor re­gains free­dom

The Se­nior Pas­tor of Evan­gel­i­cal Church Win­ning All (ECWA) lo­cated at Kabene-su­rubu vil­lage in Kauru lo­cal gov­ern­ment area of Kaduna State, Rev­erend Yusuf Ma­gaga, who was kid­napped last Wed­nes­day has re­gained his free­dom.

The chair­man of the Chris­tian As­so­ci­a­tion of Nige­ria (CAN) in Kauru LGA, Rev­erend Canon Joseph Odunayo dis­closed this to Daily Trust, say­ing the Rev­erend was re­leased on Fri­day evening.

Rev­erend Ma­gaga’s ab­duc­tors had ear­lier de­manded N2 mil­lion ran­som but Daily Trust learnt that it was pegged to N500,000.

CAN ex­pressed worry over ris­ing cases of kid­nap in Kaduna state; par­tic­u­larly kid­nap of clergy men.

It would be re­called that in March this year, Rev­erend Em­manuel Dzig­gau, the leader of TEKAN/ECWA bloc in CAN was kid­napped along­side two other mem­bers of the church, in­clud­ing Rev­erend Iliya Anto and Rev­erend Yakubu Dzarma. After pay­ing ran­som, two of the clergy men were re­leased, but Rev­erend Anto was found dead.
