Board re­tires 2 prisons of­fi­cers

The Civil De­fence, Fire, Im­mi­gra­tion and Prisons Ser­vices Board (CDFIPB) has ap­proved the re­tire­ment of a Deputy Con­troller-Gen­eral and an As­sis­tant Con­trollerGen­eral of Prisons from ser­vice.

A state­ment by the Nige­ria Prisons Ser­vice (NPS) Pub­lic Re­la­tions Of­fi­cer, DCP Fran­cis Eno­bore yes­ter­day said the board made the de­ci­sion at an emer­gency meet­ing on June 27, 2016.

The af­fected se­nior of­fi­cers are Deputy Con­troller-Gen­eral and As­sis­tant Con­trollerGen­eral of Prisons Aminu Su­ley and Ali Bala Salami re­spec­tively.

Ac­cord­ing to the state­ment, a let­ter signed by the sec­re­tary of the board, Al­haji A. A. Ibrahim dated June 28, 2016 in­di­cated that the de­ci­sion was taken due to the of­fi­cers’ se­nior­ity to the new Con­trollerGen­eral of Prisons in con­so­nance with mil­i­tary and paramil­i­tary con­ven­tion.

While wish­ing them good luck in their fu­ture en­deav­ours, the board com­mended them for their con­tri­bu­tions to the de­vel­op­ment of the prisons ser­vice.

Ja’afaru Ahmed was ap­pointed the Con­troller-Gen­eral of Prisons by Pres­i­dent Muham­madu Buhari after the re­tire­ment of Dr Peter Ekpendu on May 17, 2016.
