Suspected cultist kills man in Lagos

Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Eugene Agha, Lagos

A suspected cult group member, Kehinde Lawal, has allegedly murdered a battery charger at Isheri, Lagos.

The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim identified as Mutiu Edunjobi, 34, on the neck about 8pm while attending a party.

The deceased, a friend of the organizer of the party, also identified as Friday alias Ipodo, had allegedly been targeted by the suspect since March.

The deceased’s father, Dauda Edunjobi, said, “The guy who killed my son is far younger than him. They are not even friends. That boy should be about 20 or 21 years old. My son learnt his trade from his elder brother. He was not a cult member. They just felt he was sympathetic to their enemies and have been threatening to kill him. It was Ipodo’s brother that invited him for the party. It was a deliberate plan to kill my son. They have been telling people that they will kill him. We want the boy who killed my son and his group to be brought to justice.”

Lagos State Police Spokesperson Dolapo Badmos could not be reached on phone.
