Nurses protest kidnap of colleague in Benin
The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) University of Benin Teaching Hospital chapter, yesterday protested the kidnap of their colleague, Okaka Patricia, by gunmen in Benin.
Daily Trust gathered that Patricia, a midwife with the University of Benin Teaching Hospital was kidnapped on Friday by gunmen while she was returning home after a church service.
Speaking during the protest, the association chairman, Osigbeme Augustine, called on the government and security agencies in the country to tackle the menace of kidnapping.
He noted that five days after she was kidnapped by gunmen, no one had been communicated on her whereabouts.
The nurses and midwives who matched through major roads and the hospitals with various placards, said the kidnapped nurse is one of the best hands in the hospital.
