Police arrest 4 N/Delta militant suspects in Ogun
The Ogun State Police command yesterday disclosed that four suspected militants who allegedly participated in the militancy attacks that sacked six communities in the Sagamu and Obafemi-Owode local government areas of the state have been arrested.
The state Commissioner of Police, Abdul-Majid Ali, who paraded the suspects alongside 44 others, also arrested for cultism among others, gave their names to include a 24-year-old Ifeanyi Eze, Aijoku Ezekiel (23), Shobijo Uriel (22) and one other simply identified as Pere.
CP Ali explained that the four arrested were members of the suspected Niger Delta militants who attacked the combination of the Police Mobile Force and operatives of the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) in Ikorodu and Ibafo from where a police Corporal attached to Ibafo was abducted with his AK 47 riffle and missing till date.
Ali, who recalled that Ogun command witnessed militancy attacks at Arepo, Warewa, Imushin, Igbo - Elepete as well as Ajegunle in the Ogijo/ Sagamu and Ibafo axis, added that the suspects were already making useful statements.
