Govt gen­er­ates N4.32b in 6 months

Plateau State Gov­ern­ment said it raised N4.32 bil­lion as In­ter­nally Gen­er­ated Rev­enue (IGR) from Jan­uary to June, show­ing an in­crease of over N1­bil­lion com­pared to the rev­enue for 2014 and an in­crease of over N100 mil­lion when com­pared to rev­enue earned in 2015 within the same pe­riod.

The act­ing Chair­man of the Plateau State In­ter­nally Gen­er­ated Rev­enue Ser­vice, Dashe Ar­lat, who stated this dur­ing a press con­fer­ence or­gan­ised by the State Min­istry of Fi­nance on bailout dis­tri­bu­tion up­date, stated, “The state in­ter­nally gen­er­ated rev­enue took an in­crease from Jan­uary to June 2016 when com­pared to past years of 2015 and 2014. From Jan­uary to June in 2015, our to­tal IGR was N3.129 bil­lion and for this year, from Jan­uary to June, it is N4.32 bil­lion, which is an in­crease of over N1­bil­lion. In 2014 it was N4.2 bil­lion, so when you com­pare the past two years, the 2016 is al­ready ahead.”
