SPAR berths in Cal­abar, records un­prece­dented at­ten­dance

Nige­ri­ans and for­eign­ers in the coun­try’s tourism cap­i­tal came out in their num­bers as SPAR of­fi­cially un­veiled its 10th Store in Nige­ria

The open­ing cer­e­mony which took place on July 6 at the Cal­abar Mall, Cul­tural Cen­tre recorded the high­est num­ber shop­pers in any Store launch in Nige­ria.

Past min­is­ter of tourism, High Chief Edem Duke of­fi­ci­ated the cer­e­mony with the cut­ting of the rib­bon amidst tra­di­tional dance per­for­mances and other side at­trac­tions.

While declar­ing SPAR of­fi­cially open, Edem Duke con­grat­u­lated SPAR for in­vest­ing in Cross River and com­mended the Hy­per­mar­ket for en­hanc­ing devel­op­ment in the state.

Also in at­ten­dance was Cross-River State’s for­mer com­mis­sioner of sports, Pa­trick Ugbe ,along­side sev­eral other media per­son­al­i­ties.

Ac­cord­ing to the Brand’s spokesper­son, Mr. John Gold­smith, “Our out­lets are care­fully con­trolled to of­fer the most com­pet­i­tive prices on fast­ing mov­ing con­sumer goods and other items re­quired to make life com­fort­able.

“Over 50,000 shop­pers were present at the store to­day. At some point shop­pers had to be ush­ered in batches to manage the del­uge en­ter­ing the store.’’he added.

In commemoration of the Cal­abar launch, SPAR is of­fer­ing all its shop­pers an op­por­tu­nity to win spec­tac­u­lar gifts. On any pur­chase of 2,500 Naira and above shop­pers get in­stant gifts rang­ing from elec­tronic de­vices to ed­i­ble goods.

Cal­abar Mall Cul­tural Cen­tre recorded the high­est num­ber of shop­pers at the open­ing of Spar store re­cently.
