Rep Shuaibu picked as Obaseki’s running mate for Edo gov’ ship

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has described the nomination of Mr Philip Shuaibu as his running mate by the party’s caucus in the state as a good omen for the youths.

Shuaibu is the member representing Etsako Federal Constituency of Edo State in the House of Representatives.

Obaseki said that he was optimistic that his running mate would bring his wealth of experience to bear in the task of taking the state to the next level.

The APC flag bearer said: “I am happy with the decision of the party. Shuaibu is somebody I have worked with all these years, understands his politics and, most importantly, as a young man, our youths now have where to run to.

“We are on a mission to consolidate on the huge successes made by the Governor Adams Oshiomhole-led administration. We all have been part of it and I believe we know and understand better, what our good people of Edo State need, more than the PDP, who wants to come and destroy what we have built.”

Shuaibu had served as the majority leader of the Edo State House of Assembly.

He is now a member of the House of Representatives committee on works.
