National League side, Katsina United have expressed confidence in their inability to cause another upset in the ongoing Federation Cup by beating star studded FC IfeanyiUbah in their round of 16 match billed for the Ilorin Township Stadium.

Katsina United had recorded a surprising 1-0 victory over Mountain of Fire and Miracles in the round of 32 in Lokoja to set up today’s clash against FC IfeanyiUbah.

Although the odds favour the ‘Nnewi Millionaires’, chairman of Katisna United, Alhaji Aminu Balele Kurfi is optimistic of another victory that will take his side to the quarter-finals.

Speaking to Daily Trust, the Senior Special Assistant on Sports to Katisna State governor said in as much as Katsina United recognise the strength of FC IfeanyiUbah, they will not give their opponents too much respect.

“We are all aware of the fact that FC IfeanyiUbah being funded by billionaire business man, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah parades some of the best players in the Nigerian topflight. They have so much money and can do a lot of things.

“We are just a small club playing in the lower division. However, we are ambitious and ready to face the challenge before us. We are the underdogs in this contest and that is good for us.

“Katsina United are highly motivated. We have the backing of our state government and the sports loving people of Katsina State and that for us is the motivation we need going into this match,” he said.
