The request by former Nigeria professional football league champions Kano Pillars to take hold of its three players which are presently in camp for the NPFL - La Liga tour ahead of Sunday’s mouthwatering clash with title rivals Enyimba in Aba has been approved by the LMC.

Pillars midfielders Ifeanyi Matthew, Rabiu Ali and defender Jamiu Alimi were part of the team selected by the League Management Company for the all-star game billed for next month in Spain.

In a chat with Daily Trust yesterday, the Masu Gida media officer Idris Malikawa said the affected players will join the team in Aba on Friday and immediately return to Abuja to continue camping after the high level match.

“We have already gotten approval to take our players for the Enyimba match and we promise to get them back to Abuja for the camp after Sunday’s match in one piece.” Malikawa said.

The NPFL all-star squad picked by a poll of coaches in the Nigeria elite division will see a lucky 22 man squad leave for a pre-season tour in Spain where they will face Valencia CF and also feature in the Carranza La Liga World Club Tournament in Malaga CF between August 12 and 13.
