LMC ap­proves Pil­lars’ re­quest for Eny­imba tie

The re­quest by for­mer Nige­ria pro­fes­sional foot­ball league cham­pi­ons Kano Pil­lars to take hold of its three play­ers which are presently in camp for the NPFL - La Liga tour ahead of Sun­day’s mouth­wa­ter­ing clash with ti­tle ri­vals Eny­imba in Aba has been ap­proved by the LMC.

Pil­lars mid­field­ers Ifeanyi Matthew, Rabiu Ali and de­fender Jamiu Alimi were part of the team se­lected by the League Man­age­ment Com­pany for the all-star game billed for next month in Spain.

In a chat with Daily Trust yes­ter­day, the Masu Gida me­dia of­fi­cer Idris Ma­likawa said the af­fected play­ers will join the team in Aba on Fri­day and im­me­di­ately re­turn to Abuja to con­tinue camp­ing after the high level match.

“We have al­ready got­ten ap­proval to take our play­ers for the Eny­imba match and we prom­ise to get them back to Abuja for the camp after Sun­day’s match in one piece.” Ma­likawa said.

The NPFL all-star squad picked by a poll of coaches in the Nige­ria elite divi­sion will see a lucky 22 man squad leave for a pre-sea­son tour in Spain where they will face Va­len­cia CF and also fea­ture in the Car­ranza La Liga World Club Tour­na­ment in Malaga CF be­tween Au­gust 12 and 13.
