Gunmen suspected to be members of a rival cult group on Wednesday shot dead two brothers at the gate of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Lokoja, just as another man was killed in his house at Ogaminana, headquarters of Adavi Local Government Area of the state.

Daily Trust learnt that one of the Lokoja victims, whose name was given as Ogwu Achem and his brother whose name could not be ascertained, were coming out of the medical centre in about 8.30 pm when they were gunned down.

Witnesses said the gunmen fired several shots at the victims to be sure they were dead.

The late Ogu Achem was a former Senior Special Assistant on Security Matters in charge of Kogi East to the immediate past governor of the state, Capt Idris Wada.

The Kogi Police Spokesman, Mr William Aya, confirmed the incident at the FMC but could not confirm the killing of Victor.
