FCT natives berate minister over delay in cabinet appointments
The natives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have frowned over the delay in appointing cabinet members by the FCT minister, Muhammed Musa Bello.
The natives who spoke under the aegis of Coalition of Indigenous Groups (COIG), said the minister had taken too long to appoint mandate secretaries and special advisers.
A statement by the spokesperson of the group, Yunusa Ahmadu Yusuf, which was made available to newsmen in Abuja yesterday, said since the minister assumed duty on November 11, nothing seemed to be happening in the FCT.
The group said it was not unaware of the financial challenges facing the country, but would help if the minister appointed some aides that would support him in running the affairs of the ministry, instead of leaving sensitive responsibilities in the hands of civil servants.
The statement also berated the minister for failing to call for a town hall meeting to address the challenges facing indigenes of the territory.
