ONLINE REACTIONS ‘Senate must investigate Does ‘who gets what’ really matter? Melaye’s attack on Tinubu’

Daily Trust - - ONLINE REACTIONS -

In this “season of anomie”, wise counsel easily takes flight. Unfortunately Dino Melaye took his verbal umbrage on not just a woman but the wife of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu-the Jagaban and an undisputed leader of APC with a huge clan of followers! Otherwise, worst things have happened in the various Houses of Assembly and we are always told that what happens in the Houses remains there. People have fought, torn clothes and have even died in the course of such fracas. While public opinion, including mine, is against Dino Melaye for such infantile indiscretion, I recommend that we focus on the real matters of governance which is the welfare of Nigerians. Those rooting for the final show down with Dino Melaye should sheath their sword. Let’s not heat up this country beyond the current boiling point. There is a wise saying that you do not set fire to a house you are in because of a rat. Dino Melaye should just tender apologies to Mrs Tinubu, his colleagues and Nigerians for his unnecessary emotional outburst. As Nigerians we should learn to laugh even at the follies of a fellow Nigerian. As democrats, we should learn to be equals. Is this wise counsel? You judge. When the rain falls, it does not fall on one persons roof! Okodudu Stephen steveokodudu@yahoo.com Surrounded by the right people. A catchy phrase that’s difficult to find in this government. Both of you should be reminded that Nigeria will be bleeding and it needs good doctors to attend to the wounds. It doesn’t matter who dresses the wound, anyway. Talking about the personalities is just seeking attention to be remembered. Musa Aliyu, fullmeshcomputer@gmail. com
