Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - From Magaji Isa, Jalingo

The Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of the PDP has concluded plans to open a parallel office in Jalingo, Taraba State.

Our correspondent reports that the state PDP office in Jalingo in under the control of loyalists of the embattled national chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.

A member of the Senator Makarfiled state working committee, Malam Ahmed Bala Gassol, who disclosed this in an interview in Jalingo, yesterday, said their faction has the support of majority of PDP members in the state.

He said Sheriff’s faction was losing ground because of lack of internal democracy.

Gassol explained that members of the party in the state were not satisfied with the way Sheriff conducted the state congresses in Taraba, alleging that popular candidates were prevented from contesting.

However, the state chairman of the party, Mr. Victor Bala Kona, said as far as he was concerned, the PDP had no faction in state.

Kona said the party had conducted its congresses from the ward to the state level, in accordance with laid down guidelines enshrined in the PDP Constitution, saying the process was supervised by the INEC resident commissioner in the state.
