APC group passes vote of no confidence on Bauchi senators, Reps
A group, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Vanguard for Peace and Tranquility has passed a vote of no confidence on the 12 members of the House of Representatives and three senators from Bauchi State.
A press release signed by Tanko Umar Jakusko, the North-east zonal secretary of the group, alleged that the legislators were working with the opposition to sabotage President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption efforts.
The statement, which noted that the decision was taken at the end of the executive committee meeting, held in Yola, Adamawa State, accused the affected politicians of betraying their party, the APC, as well as the electorate.
“It is disheartening and unbelievable, watching some National Assembly members, who rode on the back of APC, particularly in Bauchi State, now secretly romancing with the opposition PDP and fraudsters to jeopardise the efforts of the federal and their state government for selfish interests.
“We observed helplessly, the events of the past few weeks, how Bauchi State was targeted for political vandalisation and acts of sabotage by its representatives,” the statement said.
The group therefore called on the presidency and the leadership of the ruling party, to take immediate action to prevent chaos in the country.
