Kaduna Polytechnic marks 60th anniversary
The management of Kaduna Polytechnic has flagged off activities to mark the diamond jubilee ceremony of the polytechnic and 32nd combined convocation of 67,403 graduands.
Kaduna Polytechnic was established in 1956.
The 32nd convocation is scheduled to hold on July 23, 2016 at the Convocation Square, main campus, Tudun wada.
Addressing newsmen, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Mohammed Bello Ibrahim, said the polytechnic last held its convocation 10 years ago due to series of crisis the institution passed through before the coming of the present management.
The 67,403 who successfully graduated from the institution from 2004 to 2015, would be awarded various forms of diplomas and certificates.
Activities lined up for the double events include a football match between the academic and nonacademic staff of the polytechnic and a pre-convocation lecture on the topic, Agricultural Reform as a Panacea for Diversification of Nigerian Economy, to be delivered by Professor Wilfred Okonkwo of the University of Nigeria. Other activities include award and dinner night and conferment of Post Higher National Diploma, Professional Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma, among others.
