A group, Concerned citizens for Peace, staged a rally in Kaduna yesterday protesting the call for the trial of soldiers involved in the Shiite, Army clash in Zaria.

The protesters who stormed the Kaduna chapter Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), marched to the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House holding placards with inscriptions reading, ‘No to extremism’, ‘No to terrorism’, ‘We reject extremism’, ‘We reject Falana and his Iranian dollars’, and ‘We reject prosecution of Nigeria soldiers’, among others.

The National President of the group, Richard Augustine, protested the request made by the Shiite lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), asking government to prosecute soldiers involved in December 2015 confrontation in Zaria with the Shiite members.
