Daily Trust - - BRAND EQUITY - By John Iyongo

Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) is to deepen the fight against fake and substandard products through enlightenment campaigns to be anchored by its regional offices in the six geopolitical zones.

The spokesperson of SON and special assistant to the acting director-general, Rilwan Fashina Bola, disclosed this last week, in Abuja. He said that the SON would embark on the campaign to educate the nation on the contents of the SON Act 2015. He said that while there were some administrative bottlenecks in the fight against standardisation, like the policy of the last administration that asked SON inspectors to leave the ports, the organisation was stepping up its efforts to fight saboteurs on all fronts. He enjoined Nigerians to cooperate with the organisation and volunteer information that could help its operation.

He said that the organisation was strengthening its operation in the six geopolitical zones to sustain the gains of fight against fake and substandard products.
