Economy: Govs meet at Aso Rock
The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) met behind closed-doors last night at the Old Banquet of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
This was ahead of today’s meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC).
The meeting, which started at 8.00pm, was still going on as of the time of filing this report (10.00pm) yesterday.
It was presided over by the chairman of the forum, Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State.
It was gathered that the meeting was called to review the state of the nation’s economy.
Governors who attended the meeting included those of Abia, Gombe, Niger, Bauchi, Kebbi, Kaduna, Ogun, Delta, Kano, Sokoto, Adamawa, and Katsina States.
The governors of Rivers, Imo, Borno, Ondo, Ekiti, Enugu, Cross River and Ebonyi States were represented by their deputies.
