Econ­omy: Govs meet at Aso Rock

The Nige­ria Gov­er­nors’ Fo­rum (NGF) met be­hind closed-doors last night at the Old Ban­quet of the Aso Rock Pres­i­den­tial Villa in Abuja.

This was ahead of to­day’s meet­ing of the Na­tional Eco­nomic Coun­cil (NEC).

The meet­ing, which started at 8.00pm, was still go­ing on as of the time of fil­ing this re­port (10.00pm) yes­ter­day.

It was presided over by the chair­man of the fo­rum, Gov­er­nor Ab­du­laziz Yari of Zam­fara State.

It was gath­ered that the meet­ing was called to re­view the state of the na­tion’s econ­omy.

Gov­er­nors who at­tended the meet­ing in­cluded those of Abia, Gombe, Niger, Bauchi, Kebbi, Kaduna, Ogun, Delta, Kano, Sokoto, Adamawa, and Katsina States.

The gov­er­nors of Rivers, Imo, Borno, Ondo, Ek­iti, Enugu, Cross River and Ebonyi States were rep­re­sented by their deputies.
