EFCC quizzes Bauchi ex-deputy speaker over N500m

The Eco­nomic and Fi­nan­cial Crimes Com­mis­sion ( EFCC) has quizzed a for­mer Deputy Speaker of the Bauchi State House of As­sem­bly, Mr. Sace A. Dumba, a for­mer care­taker chair­man of Dass lo­cal gov­ern­ment area, Mo­hammed Suleiman Rabo, and a for­mer chair­man of the Peo­ples Demo­cratic Party (PDP) in Dass lo­cal gov­ern­ment area of the state over N500 mil­lion bribe al­legedly shared to 23 lo­cal gov­ern­ment ar­eas of the state.

Daily Trust learnt from the Gombe Zonal Of­fice of the EFCC that the al­leged bribe was shared to the LGAs for the re-elec­tion of for­mer Pres­i­dent Good­luck Jonathan in the 2015 gen­eral elec­tion.

The ac­cused per­sons told op­er­a­tives at the com­mis­sion that the money was given to PDP stake­hold­ers in all the 23 LGAs of the state by the then Com­mis­sioner of Fi­nance, Garba Dahiru, dur­ing the ad­min­is­tra­tion of ex-gov­er­nor of the state, Malam Isa Yuguda.

Daily Trust learnt that all the ac­cused per­sons ad­mit­ted to the op­er­a­tives of EFCC dur­ing in­ter­ro­ga­tion that they signed and col­lected the said amount from the fi­nance com­mis­sioner Garba Dahiru to de­liver votes for PDP from the LGAs.
