EFCC quizzes Bauchi ex-deputy speaker over N500m
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) has quizzed a former Deputy Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Mr. Sace A. Dumba, a former caretaker chairman of Dass local government area, Mohammed Suleiman Rabo, and a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Dass local government area of the state over N500 million bribe allegedly shared to 23 local government areas of the state.
Daily Trust learnt from the Gombe Zonal Office of the EFCC that the alleged bribe was shared to the LGAs for the re-election of former President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general election.
The accused persons told operatives at the commission that the money was given to PDP stakeholders in all the 23 LGAs of the state by the then Commissioner of Finance, Garba Dahiru, during the administration of ex-governor of the state, Malam Isa Yuguda.
Daily Trust learnt that all the accused persons admitted to the operatives of EFCC during interrogation that they signed and collected the said amount from the finance commissioner Garba Dahiru to deliver votes for PDP from the LGAs.
