IBB Ju­nior Open Cham­pi­onship slated for next month

The IBB Golf club will next month host the 2016 edi­tion of the Ju­nior Open Cham­pi­onship for young golfers who are free to reg­is­ter for the event sched­uled to tee off on Au­gust 17.

The Ju­nior Open Cham­pi­onship is or­gan­ised by the Ladies Sec­tion of the IBB Golf and Coun­try Club and the aim is to give the youth the op­por­tu­nity to de­velop their skills in the sport.

Ac­cord­ing to the or­ga­niz­ing com­mit­tee, par­tic­i­pants are ex­pected to pay a dis­counted N 9000 en­try fee per player, which cov­ers ac­com­mo­da­tion for three nights, be­gin­ning from the said Au­gust 17 through to 18th and 19th.

The en­try fee will also cater for feed­ing, goodie bag, trans­porta­tion and caddy fees.

Par­tic­i­pants are ex­pected to ar­rive the venue on Au­gust 17 and de­part on Au­gust 20.

Au­gust 17 is re­served for ar­rival and cock­tail, while the tour­na­ment will hold on Au­gust 18 and 19, with the pre­sen­ta­tion of prizes also hold­ing on the last day.

The Ju­nior Cham­pi­onship is one of the de­vel­op­men­tal pro­grammes in­sti­tuted by the Ladies Sec­tion and over the years it has pro­duced pro­fi­cient play­ers for the coun­try.

The sec­tion said its ul­ti­mate aim is to pro­duce Olympic stan­dard play­ers for the coun­try through its youth de­vel­op­ment ini­tia­tives.
