Buhari hails Justice Mamman Nasir
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday hailed Justice Mamman Nasir, a former President of the Courts of Appeal.
The president who spoke at the 1st Mamman Nasir Colloquium and Public presentation of books on him, as organised by the Arewa Media Publication Event Company in Kaduna, said Kaduna is symbolic for Mamman Nasir because he began his public service career Kaduna and it is the home of all Nigerians.
Represented by the Governor of Kaduna state, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, the president congratulated the Galadiman Katsina on attaining the ripe age of 87.
Buhari thanked Mamman Nasir for his service to Northern Nigeria and Nigeria, and for his ‘impeccable service’ to the judiciary.
The president expressed appreciation to the organisers of the event for honouring Mamama Nasir, saying, “In this country, we do not recognize those that have served meritoriously. This country has become a nation in which people that have money are worshipped and recognized more than those that have served with merit.
Speaking similarly, the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Christopher Ogbonnaya Onu, said Nigeria easily forgot those values that made it great in the past.
