Former Kano dep gov Ma­gaji Ab­dul­lahi dies at 69

Aformer Kano State Deputy Gover­nor un­der the de­funct All Nige­ria Peo­ples Party (ANPP) from May 29th 2003 to May 29th 2007, En­gi­neer Ma­gaji Adamu Ab­dul­lahi, is dead.

Aged 69, late Ma­gaji Ab­dul­lahi died yesterday at the Aminu Kano Teach­ing Hos­pi­tal (AKTH), Kano af­ter a pro­tracted ill­ness, his former press sec­re­tary, Al­haji Ab­dulka­dir Ahmed Ibrahim, said.

Un­til his death, the former Sen­a­tor (Kano North) un­der the de­funct So­cial Democratic Party (SDP) bat­tled with ill­ness for sev­eral years.

Ibrahim said his late boss was in In­dia for med­i­ca­tion about six months ago and had been to AKTH on sev­eral oc­ca­sions for sim­i­lar pur­pose.

The late former deputy gover­nor held sev­eral po­lit­i­cal po­si­tions, in­clud­ing Chair­man of the Se­nate Com­mit­tee on FCT, Chair­man of Na­tional Cen­tre Party of Nige­ria (NCPN) (1994 to 1997), and was at the Na­tional Con­sti­tu­tional Con­fer­ence (1995).

He was a pi­o­neer mem­ber of the de­funct All Nige­ria Peo­ples Party (ANPP) and Con­gress for Pro­gres­sive Change (CPC) as well as the rul­ing All Pro­gres­sives Con­gress (APC).

The late former deputy gover­nor who is sur­vived by one wife, many chil­dren and grand­chil­dren, has since been buried ac­cord­ing to Is­lamic rites.
