Troops ambush B/Haram militants in Borno
The Nigerian Army says troops on Operation Lafiya Dole early yesterday ambushed Boko Haram militants around Musafanari in Borno State.
A statement from army spokesman, Colonel Sani Usman, said the troops ambushed the militants crossing into the Sambisa forest from Komala and Musafanari.
He said the ambush party killed two Boko Haram militants while two soldiers sustained gunshot wounds, adding that the wounded had since been airlifted and were receiving treatment at a military medical facility.
He added that the troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles, four AK47 rifle magazines fully loaded, 25 litres of petrol and food items. Also recovered were a motorcycle and two bicycles among other items.
