Troops am­bush B/Haram mil­i­tants in Borno

The Nige­rian Army says troops on Op­er­a­tion Lafiya Dole early yesterday am­bushed Boko Haram mil­i­tants around Musafa­nari in Borno State.

A state­ment from army spokesman, Colonel Sani Us­man, said the troops am­bushed the mil­i­tants cross­ing into the Sam­bisa for­est from Ko­mala and Musafa­nari.

He said the am­bush party killed two Boko Haram mil­i­tants while two sol­diers sus­tained gun­shot wounds, adding that the wounded had since been air­lifted and were re­ceiv­ing treat­ment at a mil­i­tary med­i­cal fa­cil­ity.

He added that the troops also re­cov­ered two AK-47 ri­fles, four AK47 ri­fle mag­a­zines fully loaded, 25 litres of petrol and food items. Also re­cov­ered were a mo­tor­cy­cle and two bi­cy­cles among other items.
