Po­lice ar­rest teenage hu­man parts deal­ers

Four boys be­tween the ages of 17 and 20 years have been ar­rested by the Akwa Ibom State Po­lice Com­mand for al­legedly trad­ing in hu­man parts.

Ad­dress­ing news­men at the com­mand head­quar­ters in Uyo, the Po­lice Pub­lic Re­la­tions Of­fi­cer (PPRO), ASP Delia Nwawe, said the sus­pects were ar­rested by the Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion De­part­ment (CID) af­ter be­ing tipped off that some teenagers were shop­ping for a buyer of a hu­man skull.

“The four teenagers were ar­rested by the Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion De­part­ment (CID) of the com­mand in Mbo lo­cal govern­ment area af­ter a tipoff by some youths of the area that the boys had a hu­man skull for which they were look­ing for a buyer. In­ves­ti­ga­tion is on and the sus­pects will be charged to court soon,” she said.

In a an­other de­vel­op­ment, the Ak­waIbom Po­lice Com­mand said it had ap­pre­hended one Vic­tor Esin Nyak for al­legedly sev­er­ing the head of his un­cle, Rev. Esin An­dang, af­ter a mi­nor quar­rel.

Nwawe said the case was still be­ing in­ves­ti­gated, but that the sus­pect, Vic­tor Nyak, had con­fessed to the crime, say­ing that his ac­tion was due to provo­ca­tion be­cause his un­cle was re­spon­si­ble for his lack of progress.
