Edo can’t go back to looting era — Shuaibu

Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - From Usman A. Bello, Benin

Representative Philip Shuaibu, the running mate of the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has said that the era of looting of public treasury by unpatriotic politicians is gone.

Speaking at his country home in Jattu, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, weekend, Shuibu said that the warm reception accorded the APC during its campaigns showed that the party remained the party to beat come September 10.

“The issue before the Edo people in this election is whether to go back to PDP era, when it was operations share the money, no development and no infrastructure.

“That was a time when fake industries were set up to siphon public money for personal use. The people have the option to continue with the APC government that has decided to develop the state through road infrastructure, making erosion a history, putting education back to where it belonged and making sure that an Edo child has a good school to learn for better future,” he said.

He said that the governorship candidate of the PDP, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, was battling to get what to showcase to the people during his campaigns, because Edo was misgoverned by the PDP before Governor Adams Oshiomhole came to the rescue of the state.
