Buhari mourns Magaji Abdullahi
President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the death of a former deputy governor of Kano State, Senator Magaji Abdullahi, describing him as one of Nigeria’s finest and result-driven engineers of his time.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, said in a statement yesterday that Buhari’s message to the family, the government and people of Kano State was delivered by a federal government delegation led by the Water Resources Minister, Sulaiman Adamu.
The delegation comprised the Minister of State for Aviation Senator Hadi Sirika, the Accountant-General of the Federation Ahmed Idris and Shehu himself.
The president said under Magaji’s tenure as head of the Water Resources and Engineering Construction Agency (WRECA), Kano State enjoyed the best water supply and availability on record.
He said the late Magaji was preoccupied with producing practical results rather than theories about his job, a quality he noted, made him an outstanding engineer who deserved a special place in the nation’s engineering profession.
He said achieving results was the best advertisement for any man’s record in office, adding that the late Magaji’s notable contributions to the development of Kano State would not be forgotten.
President Buhari prayed that Allah grant him eternal rest and a worthy place in paradise.
