Govt in­ves­ti­gates Old Mar­ket fire out­break

The Sokoto State Govern­ment will set up a com­mit­tee to in­ves­ti­gate the cause of the fire in­ci­dent at Ka­suwa Dan­ja­balu, pop­u­larly known as Old Mar­ket, which oc­curred Sun­day night.

It was said that the fire started around 10pm and raged over three hours be­fore it was put off.

The fire de­stroyed prop­erty worth bil­lions of Naira as the mar­ket was re­puted for as­sorted cloth­ing ma­te­ri­als, foot wears, and jewels.

Gov­er­nor Aminu Waziri Tam­buwal who was among the first peo­ple that vis­ited the scene of the inferno, as­sured traders of his sup­port and promised a com­mit­tee to in­ves­ti­gate the re­mote and im­me­di­ate causes of the inferno and rec­om­mend as­sis­tance for vic­tims.
