Hajj: FCT pilgrims board sets up camp committee
The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board has assured of the security of its intending pilgrims at hajj camp this year.
The director of the board, Malam Bashir Muhammad, gave the assurance while inaugurating the hajj management committee for this year’s exercise at the permanent hajj transit camp.
Malam Muhammad stressethat the board would not compromise the security of its pilgrims and urged members to ensure that security personnel drafted for the operation carried out their duty diligently.
The director called on the committee to take the welfare of the intending pilgrims with paramount importance and to ensure that the camp maintained good hygiene by keeping the premises clean at all times.
He called on those who have no business with the camp to keep away from it or have themselves to blame.
The director called for the cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure a hitch free exercise and advised the intending pilgrims to adhere strictly to the flight schedule during the exercise.
In his speech, the chairman of the hajj camp management committee and head of Administration and Supplies of the board, Mallam Aliyu Usman pledged the commitment of the members of the committee to carry out their assignment with all seriousness.
Intending pilgrims from Nasarawa, Kogi and Benue states are expected to be camped at the FCT permanent hajj transit camp on their way to Saudi Arabia.
About 3,000 intending pilgrims from the FCT are expected to perform the hajj through the board this year.
