Hajj: FCT pil­grims board sets up camp com­mit­tee

The Fed­eral Cap­i­tal Ter­ri­tory Mus­lim Pil­grims’ Wel­fare Board has as­sured of the se­cu­rity of its in­tend­ing pil­grims at hajj camp this year.

The di­rec­tor of the board, Malam Bashir Muham­mad, gave the as­sur­ance while in­au­gu­rat­ing the hajj man­age­ment com­mit­tee for this year’s ex­er­cise at the per­ma­nent hajj tran­sit camp.

Malam Muham­mad stres­sethat the board would not com­pro­mise the se­cu­rity of its pil­grims and urged mem­bers to en­sure that se­cu­rity per­son­nel drafted for the oper­a­tion car­ried out their duty dili­gently.

The di­rec­tor called on the com­mit­tee to take the wel­fare of the in­tend­ing pil­grims with para­mount im­por­tance and to en­sure that the camp main­tained good hy­giene by keep­ing the premises clean at all times.

He called on those who have no busi­ness with the camp to keep away from it or have them­selves to blame.

The di­rec­tor called for the co­op­er­a­tion of all stake­hold­ers to en­sure a hitch free ex­er­cise and ad­vised the in­tend­ing pil­grims to ad­here strictly to the flight sched­ule dur­ing the ex­er­cise.

In his speech, the chair­man of the hajj camp man­age­ment com­mit­tee and head of Ad­min­is­tra­tion and Sup­plies of the board, Mal­lam Aliyu Us­man pledged the com­mit­ment of the mem­bers of the com­mit­tee to carry out their as­sign­ment with all se­ri­ous­ness.

In­tend­ing pil­grims from Nasarawa, Kogi and Benue states are ex­pected to be camped at the FCT per­ma­nent hajj tran­sit camp on their way to Saudi Ara­bia.

About 3,000 in­tend­ing pil­grims from the FCT are ex­pected to per­form the hajj through the board this year.
