Again, militants attack Lagos community
Suspected militants yesterday raided Fatoki, Obadore and Egan, in Igando area of Lagos, carting away valuables.
The attack was immediately followed by a shootout between the suspected militants and policemen from the Igando Police Division.
The area under attack is about five minutes away from Iba town, where the monarch, the Oniba of Iba, Oba Yushau Goriola Oseni, was kidnapped penultimate Sunday.
The community just attacked is bordered by water, which made it susceptible to attacks from the dreaded militants believed to live in the surrounding creeks.
Some witnesses alleged that the armed suspects arrived the quiet town on speed boats around 7.30 am yesterday.
A witness, Ojo Oladele told Daily Trust that a number of persons were injured in the crossfire between policemen and the militants.
Oladele said, “Apart from carting away food stuffs, they stole generators, televisions, laptops and refrigerators.”
Calls and text messages to the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, we’re not answered.
