Kwara disqualifies 7 intending pilgrims over pregnancy
The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board said it has disqualified seven intending female pilgrims from performing this year’s Hajj for getting pregnant.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Hajia Fatimah Abolore-Jimoh, disclosed this in llorin during an interview with our correspondent, saying the seven pregnant women who had paid their Hajj fares in full were detected after the medical screening conducted by the board.
The Executive Secretary said the board could not guarantee the safety of the seven women and their unborn babies while in the holy land.
“The seven pregnant women detected during the medical screening have been disqualified because it a risk to allow them make the holy trip”, she said, adding that the board was ready to return the fares paid by the affected women.
