Late Akun­y­ili bags posthu­mous award

The late for­mer Min­is­ter of In­for­ma­tion and Com­mu­ni­ca­tion, Prof Dora Akun­y­ili, has been given a posthu­mous award by a group, Anam­bra Con­sen­sus Project.

The group which pre­sented the award in Onit­sha, said the ex-di­rec­tor gen­eral of NAFDAC was hon­oured for the part she played in saving lives through drug con­trol and ad­min­is­tra­tion.

Re­ceiv­ing the award for his late wife, Dr Chike Akun­y­ili de­scribed the hon­our as a priv­i­lege, adding that his late wife loved hard work and trans­parency.

Oth­ers who were hon­oured on the oc­ca­sion in­cluded Anam­bra State Gover­nor, Chief Wil­lie Obiano, Min­is­ter of Labour and Em­ploy­ment, Sen­a­tor Chris Ngige, Sen­a­tor Andy Uba and businessman, Prince Arthur Eze.
