Em­zor un­veils new pack to mark its 30 years

Em­zor Phar­ma­ceu­ti­cals has un­veiled a new pack for its parac­eta­mol to mark its 30th an­niver­sary in the mar­ket.

It also in­cludes a tele­vi­sion com­mer­cial which will fea­ture all tribes in Nige­ria

The man­age­ment made this dis­clo­sure at an event to mark the 30th an­niver­sary of Em­zor brand of Parac­eta­mol in the Nige­rian mar­ket.

The cel­e­bra­tion which took place at Ikoyi, La­gos, brought to­gether those in the phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal in­dus­try in Nige­ria.

Speak­ing at the event, the founder/ Group Manag­ing Di­rec­tor, Dr Stella Okoli, said her com­pany started pro­duc­ing parac­eta­mol in 1986 and has since given birth to over 100 other prod­ucts.

She fur­ther said though the com­pany worth mil­lions, has not been listed on the stock ex­change, hence her in­abil­ity to de­ter­mine how much Em­zor is worth.

Ac­cord­ing to her, the com­pany has over 600 paid staff, thou­sands of in­di­rect staff, and com­mit­ment of Nige­ria to­wards the parac­eta­mol and other prod­ucts, has made the brand sur­vived all ob­sta­cles over the years.

The new parac­eta­mol brand, said the national sales man­ager, Mr Folorun­sho Alaran, has the same con­tent but with a dif­fer­ent an­niver­sary pack.

He said that; “Our prod­ucts are avail­able, af­ford­able and can be found in ev­ery phar­macy in Nige­ria. The qual­ity of our prod­ucts is world stan­dard.”

Em­zor was re­cently given an in­ter­na­tional ac­cred­i­ta­tion by the Stan­dard Or­ga­ni­za­tion of Nige­ria and has branches in Sierra Leone and Liberia, with plans to open branches in other parts of Africa.

Okoli started the busi­ness as a chemist in 1977, be­came an im­porter in 1983, got a N184,000 li­cense, ac­quired land at Isolo, bought machinery and pro­duced the first parac­eta­mol in 1986.
