RUYA tasks Kuje chairman on revenue generation
The president of the Rubochi Youth Association (RUYA) in Kuje Area Council, Comrade Joseph Yakwo, has advised the chairman of the council, Alhaji Abdullahi D. Galadima, to explore avenues to improve the revenue of the council.
Speaking when he led other executive members of the association on a courtesy visit to the chairman in his office on Tuesday, he said there were many avenues, such as payment of tenement rates and taxes through which the present administration could realise revenue that would enable him embark on viable projects.
“It is obvious and unfortunate that you are coming to power at a very difficult and challenging time. But we feel there are avenues you can realise revenue from, like quarry sites, timber among other natural resources that are being tapped on daily basis in Kuje,” he said.
The association commended the chairman for appointing one of its members into his cabinet, saying they were always ready to offer useful advice to help move Kuje to greater heights.
Responding, the chairman of the council, Alhaji Abdullahi D. Galadima, thanked the association for the advice, saying the APC manifesto was in line with what the association highlighted.
“I am very elated for the visit and the advice. I am assuring the RUYA executives that my doors are always open for any useful advice that will benefit the entire people of Kuje Area Council,” he said.
