RUYA tasks Kuje chairman on rev­enue gen­er­a­tion

The pres­i­dent of the Rubochi Youth As­so­ci­a­tion (RUYA) in Kuje Area Coun­cil, Com­rade Joseph Yakwo, has ad­vised the chairman of the coun­cil, Al­haji Ab­dul­lahi D. Gal­adima, to ex­plore av­enues to im­prove the rev­enue of the coun­cil.

Speak­ing when he led other ex­ec­u­tive mem­bers of the as­so­ci­a­tion on a cour­tesy visit to the chairman in his of­fice on Tues­day, he said there were many av­enues, such as pay­ment of ten­e­ment rates and taxes through which the present ad­min­is­tra­tion could re­alise rev­enue that would en­able him em­bark on vi­able projects.

“It is ob­vi­ous and un­for­tu­nate that you are com­ing to power at a very dif­fi­cult and chal­leng­ing time. But we feel there are av­enues you can re­alise rev­enue from, like quarry sites, tim­ber among other nat­u­ral re­sources that are be­ing tapped on daily ba­sis in Kuje,” he said.

The as­so­ci­a­tion com­mended the chairman for ap­point­ing one of its mem­bers into his cab­i­net, saying they were al­ways ready to of­fer use­ful ad­vice to help move Kuje to greater heights.

Re­spond­ing, the chairman of the coun­cil, Al­haji Ab­dul­lahi D. Gal­adima, thanked the as­so­ci­a­tion for the ad­vice, saying the APC man­i­festo was in line with what the as­so­ci­a­tion high­lighted.

“I am very elated for the visit and the ad­vice. I am as­sur­ing the RUYA ex­ec­u­tives that my doors are al­ways open for any use­ful ad­vice that will ben­e­fit the en­tire peo­ple of Kuje Area Coun­cil,” he said.
