Why my return to APC can’t be stopped — Gundiri

Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - By Muideen Olaniyi

A founding member of the APC, Engr. Markus Gundiri, said yesterday that his return to the party could not be stopped because he joined from the “formative stage”.

The former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Adamawa State, who returned to the APC along with a former chairman of the EFCC, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, last week, spoke in Abuja during an interview with journalists.

“Those people whom they said are the top shots, who do not want us to come back, are the people who were not in the party at the formative stage. Those people whom they said came to complain that we should not be in the party were not there when we started the party.

On the report that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Governor Umaru Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa State had been alleged to have opposed his return, he said, “I do not know if they were the people at the national secretariat of the APC. But, what I’m saying is whoever does not want Markus Gundiri in the APC is making a big mistake because that is my party,” he said.
