Kano club house construction stalls over lack of funds
The ongoing work for a new club house at the historic Kano Golf Club has been stalled over lack of funds to complete the project, according to a staff of the sport institution.
Work on the facility begun in May, with Captain Babangida Umar at the time excited at the prospect of completing the massive edifice which contains among other features, new changing rooms, lockers and relaxation spots for the club’s members.
“Work has stopped for some time now due to lack of funds and we are yet to hear anything from the management regarding the way forward, this structure is very important and completing is a necessity for a huge club such as this,” the staff who pleaded for anonymity said.
According to Umar in a chat with Golf Digest, two months ago, members of the club took it upon themselves to put in place the structure, which is expected to gulp N25 million.
