Mil­i­tants abduct an­other per­son in La­gos

Gun­men yes­ter­day ab­ducted an­other La­gos busi­ness­man at Ishawo in Iko­rodu area of La­gos.

Yes­ter­day’s ab­duc­tion brought to about six per­sons so far kid­napped in La­gos state in the last one month.

An im­mi­gra­tion of­fi­cer and a pas­tor were al­legedly kid­napped in the same area.

While the im­mi­gra­tion of­fi­cer was kid­napped twice by the dis­placed van­dals at Ishawo area, the Oniba of Iba was ab­ducted few days later by sus­pected mil­i­tants.

Presently, se­cu­rity op­er­a­tives are bat­tling with the at­tacks on Igando Com­mu­nity in La­gos.

The sus­pected mil­i­tants yes­ter­day ab­ducted a man, Hy­ginius Nko­ronye, at the Ishawo area of Iko­rodu, and are de­mand­ing a N20 mil­lion ran­som.

A source from the vic­tim’s fam­ily who spoke on the con­di­tion of anonymity, said, “My brother was kid­napped on his way from mid­week Church pro­gramme. The kid­nap­pers have de­manded N20 mil­lion ran­som and we are still ne­go­ti­at­ing with them”

The State Po­lice Pub­lic Re­la­tions Of­fi­cer (PPRO) Do­lapo Bad­mus, de­nied knowl­edge of any kid­nap­ping in Ishawo. The PPRO said, “There was no re­port of any kid­nap in Ishawo. What we are bat­tling is the kid­nap of a pas­tor ab­ducted on Sun­day”
