Kaduna dis­misses 8 over land, Hajj scan­dal

The Kaduna State govern­ment has dis­missed five di­rec­tors from two of its agen­cies for tam­per­ing with the lay­out for the re­vised Mil­le­nium City lay­out.

Three staff of the state Lo­cal Govern­ment Ser­vice Com­mis­sion were also dis­missed for de­fraud­ing pil­grims who paid for par­tic­i­pa­tion in the Hajj.

Three di­rec­tors were af­fected at the Kaduna State Ur­ban Plan­ning and De­vel­op­ment Agency (KASUPDA) and two oth­ers from Kaduna State Geo­graphic In­for­ma­tion Ser­vice (KADGIS).

The let­ters of dis­missal signed by Mrs. Grace Yusuf Ba­ture on be­half of the Gen­eral Man­ager KASUPDA, Saratu M.Haruna, in­di­cated that those af­fected in­cluded Charles Akau Ibrahim, the direc­tor of ur­ban plan­ning and re­search, Adamu Aliyu Nuhu, direc­tor de­vel­op­ment con­trol, and Phile­mon Mairabo, direc­tor ur­ban plan­ning and re­search.

Their sack­ing fol­lowed the State Ex­ec­u­tive Coun­cil’s de­lib­er­a­tions over a re­port of the com­mit­tee that in­ves­ti­gated the role of some staff of the for­mer Min­istry of Land, Sur­veys and Coun­try Plan­ning, KASUPDA and some tra­di­tional rulers in dis­tort­ing the re­vised Mil­len­nium City lay­out.
