Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Balarabe Alkassim, Bauchi

Former Deputy Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon. Saleh Dumba has denied being interrogated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over N500 million allegedly given to him during the 2015 general elections.

Dumba in a statement issued in Bauchi and signed by his media consultant, Mr Kemjika Hilary Kemjika, described the allegation as malicious and scandalous.

He said that the report which appeared in some national dailies on the 21st of July, 2016 and which alleged that he and the others invited by the EFCC admitted collecting the said amount on behalf of Dass local government PDP stakeholders was cruelly untrue.

He said his political opponents were at work to tarnish his image because they feared that his political clout would constitute obstacles for them towards 2019.

“There is no iota of truth in the story which has caused serious reputational damage to Hon Dumba, his political supporters across Nigeria and beyond have called to inquire about the truth of the matter,’’ the statement said.
