NITDA re­it­er­ates com­mit­ment to sup­port start-ups

The Head, e-govern­ment and In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy In­fra­struc­ture Se­cu­rity Ser­vices of the Na­tional In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy De­vel­op­ment Agency (NITDA), Mr Bernard Ewah, yes­ter­day, re­it­er­ated the com­mit­ment of the agency to pro­mote lo­cal start-ups.

He said that the NITDA has spon­sored lo­cal start-ups to ifor­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy ex­hi­bi­tions out­side the coun­try.

Speak­ing dur­ing the just­con­cluded ICTEL EXPO 2016, Ewah said that the NITDA has cre­ated many plat­forms for lo­cal start-ups to in­ter­act with one of the best start-ups in the world and ex­posed them to in­ter­na­tional in­vestors.

“Last year, one of our lo­cal start-ups got sig­nif­i­cant in­ter­est from an in­ter­na­tional in­vestor in one of the in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy ex­hi­bi­tions out­side this coun­try and this start-up is do­ing very well now,” Ewa said.

He said that the NITDA would spon­sor 16 start-ups to an in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy ex­hi­bi­tion in Dubai, this year.

He said that the agency has a sub­sidiary ded­i­cated to pro­vid­ing men­tor­ship for start-ups.
