Expert harps on protection of innovations

The president of Transatlantic Media Company, Dr Bayero Agabi, yesterday, called on government to make a law to protect innovations.

Bayero, who spoke at venue of the just-concluded ICTEL EXPO 2016 held in Lagos, said that lack of law to protect young entrepreneurs prevented them from developing their many innovations.

“Young entrepreneurs who come up with these innovations are not buoyant economically,” Agabi said. “They do not have the economic power to negotiate what is good for them, so they go to some of these hubs and accept whatever is thrown at them.”

He, therefore, urged government to promulgate laws that would protect young innovators who lacked economic power to protect what they have developed.
