Kwali to probe shoddy projects

The Chair­man of Kwali Area Coun­cil, Mr. Joseph Shazhin, has said he will thor­oughly in­ves­ti­gate some of the projects awarded by the past ad­min­is­tra­tion.

Shazhin spoke shortly after he re­ceived the re­port of an 18-man projects in­spec­tion and eval­u­a­tion com­mit­tee in his of­fice on Tues­day.

He said the com­mit­tee was not set up to witch­hunt but to keep the record straight adding, how­ever that there are some find­ings that he could not ig­nore. He said the elec­torate would be in­formed of the find­ings at the ap­pro­pri­ate time.

“There are some projects which gulp a lot of money, but after two years some of them are in a di­lap­i­dated stage.

“Be­sides, the tax pay­ers money that was en­gulfed in this projects was about N300 mil­lion,” the coun­cil chair­man said.
