Police parade 32 over Abuja-Kaduna road kidnapping

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) yesterday paraded 32 suspects over alleged violent crimes and kidnapping­s along the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

Police spokesman Jimoh Moshood in a statement said the suspects were arrested by policemen attached to the recently launched ‘Operation Absolute Sanity.’

The suspects are: Mohammed Musa, Musa Hassan, Mamuda Ado, Shuabu Musa, Sani Abubakar, Shehu Ado, Abubakar Bello, Mohammed Garba and Usman Bello.

Others are: Kabiru Ahmadu, Usman Gambo, Abubakar Abdullahi, Yahaya Usman, Suleiman Lawan, Awal Madaki, Yakubu Musa, Aliyu Yahaya and Aminu Shuaibu.

Also arrested are: Umaru Mohammed, Sani Fulani, Ahmadu Rufai, Shuaibu Musa, Ibrahim Illo, Umaru Auta, Bello Tukur, Mohammed Gambo, Mohamadu Sikiru, Mohammed Ibrahim, Saidu Mohammed, Abubakar Abdullai, DanAbsabe Isah and Auwalu Abdullahi.

Moshood said four AK 47 rifles, six locally made pump action guns and two magazines were recovered from them by the police.

He explained that within the first week of the commenceme­nt of the operation, suspects were arrested in their hideouts and the exhibits recovered from them.

He said they had made confession­al statements indicating various criminal roles they played.

Moshood also said most of them had been identified by some of their victims, adding that they would soon be charged to court.
