Po­lice pa­rade 32 over Abuja-Kaduna road kid­nap­ping

The Nige­rian Po­lice Force (NPF) yes­ter­day pa­raded 32 sus­pects over al­leged vi­o­lent crimes and kid­nap­pings along the Abuja-Kaduna high­way.

Po­lice spokesman Ji­moh Mos­hood in a state­ment said the sus­pects were ar­rested by po­lice­men at­tached to the re­cently launched ‘Op­er­a­tion Ab­so­lute San­ity.’

The sus­pects are: Mo­hammed Musa, Musa Has­san, Ma­muda Ado, Shuabu Musa, Sani Abubakar, Shehu Ado, Abubakar Bello, Mo­hammed Garba and Us­man Bello.

Oth­ers are: Kabiru Ah­madu, Us­man Gambo, Abubakar Ab­dul­lahi, Ya­haya Us­man, Suleiman Lawan, Awal Madaki, Yakubu Musa, Aliyu Ya­haya and Aminu Shuaibu.

Also ar­rested are: Umaru Mo­hammed, Sani Fu­lani, Ah­madu Ru­fai, Shuaibu Musa, Ibrahim Illo, Umaru Auta, Bello Tukur, Mo­hammed Gambo, Mo­hamadu Sikiru, Mo­hammed Ibrahim, Saidu Mo­hammed, Abubakar Ab­dul­lai, DanAb­sabe Isah and Auwalu Ab­dul­lahi.

Mos­hood said four AK 47 ri­fles, six lo­cally made pump ac­tion guns and two mag­a­zines were re­cov­ered from them by the po­lice.

He ex­plained that within the first week of the com­mence­ment of the op­er­a­tion, sus­pects were ar­rested in their hide­outs and the ex­hibits re­cov­ered from them.

He said they had made con­fes­sional state­ments in­di­cat­ing var­i­ous crim­i­nal roles they played.

Mos­hood also said most of them had been iden­ti­fied by some of their vic­tims, adding that they would soon be charged to court.
