Technologists caution states over Paris Club refund

The National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) has cautioned state governments to ensure that the Paris Club refund is used for payment of workers’ emoluments.

The association said this was in line with guidelines for the release of the funds, as workers won’t accept anything less.

The union stated this in a communiqué issued at the end of its 33rd national executive council (NEC) meeting held at the University of Port Harcourt.

The communiqué signed by the association President, Sani Suleiman and General Secretary, Iyoyo Hamilton commended the Federal Government for the release of N243 billion to the states. It also warned against misappropriation of the fund released in the first tranche.
